Silly Font Changes In Word

Don't you hate how Office 07 changed the default font to some "C" word in size 11? Geeze....
Well, while messing around with Office, I found a couple of very important things out. If you click on the the word "Home" you will see your fonts. This is what it should look like anyways when you open it up. But anyways- back on track!
Below the font, you will see the word "Font". Right over from it, there is a little corner with an arrow in it. Click on it and it will bring up that old font box. When I have everything that I want to show up as my default, I clicked on that "default" button at the bottom of that box. I restarted Word, and it was like "POOF!" My stuff appeared! I was so happy. I even did a little dance. :)
Here is your cheat sheet

Simple Tables In Excel

Since this is my first blog on Office 07, let me do a little bit of extra explaining. I love using the computer, but I didn't know how to use everything overnight. I played and messed up, played and messed up. I can do anything you ask me on Office 2003, but since Office 2007 is a little bit different, I am still having problems. This blog is about you taking a journey with me while I make different files in Office 2007.

Today, I thought that I would make a chart to keep track of how many times I was going to each school.
I used Excel. As scary as it is, I try to just think of it as a ginormous (giant + humongous) table in Word with all the tools for it at the top.
Anyways, I went to Excel (on desktop or Start>All Programs>Microsoft Office>Excel). I really tried to make sure that I had all the information I would need. I made sure that I had the font and size I wanted and that I was in the very top left cell (A1). Did you know that cells are named for the row and column they intersect? I put my title on my first row. Then I went down a line or two to start putting my headings. Once I got all that done, I started to put in my information. It wasn't too bad. It took a while though. I lost a couple of buttons and had to search through the ribbons. Sometimes, I would put information in the cell and then I would accidentally click out of it. When I clicked on the cell to type into it again, it would delete everything I had before. Quickly I remembered that you have to double click in the cell to edit what you already have in there, or it will replace it! GRRR....
Finally I have it done. Here is my cheat sheet for it. It is also listed on the main blog page on the side. It says, "Office 07 Cheat Sheets".
Remember- You will never be able to learn it if you don't use it. Try, try try. If you think you fail or crashed it, restart the computer. It works every time! (PS- if it doesn't, email me....I will help you!!! :) )
